It's Worth Giving up Our Junk

I was reading this scripture the other day and it really stood out to me-

"And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:" Jeremiah 9:13-14

I started thinking, well, what if their fathers had taught them something different? What if they had taught them to serve the Lord?

I know a certain amount of a person's choices are entirely up to them....but of course, parental training accounts for a portion of how a child turns out.

The thing for me is this....how can I teach the kids anything I'm not actually doing myself. I've heard so many times that the kids pick up more from my actions then from my words. I want my actions to line up with what's right, so I can pass that on to my kids.

This was such a great reminder for me today to keep going, and to keep giving up the stuff that needs to go.
